Beautiful Plants For Your Interior

Light is food for your plants. You can have the best soil and a perfect watering routine, but if your plant is sitting in the dark, it won’t survive. Understanding the lighting in your home is crucial for happy indoor plants.
Decoding Light Levels
- Direct Sunlight: The sunbeams hit the plant’s leaves directly. This is usually found right next to a south-facing or west-facing window. Best for: Cacti, succulents, and some citrus trees.
- Bright Indirect Light: The plant is in a very bright room, but out of the direct path of the sun’s harsh rays. Think of a spot a few feet away from a sunny window. Best for: Most tropical houseplants like Monsteras, Calatheas, and Philodendrons.
- Low Light: Spaces far away from windows, or rooms facing north. Note that “low light” does not mean “no light.” Best for: Snake plants, ZZ plants, and Cast Iron plants.
